Updated on April 7, 2018

The Japanese academic year begins on April 1. In Osaka University, most courses are run on semester basis essentially, although the university officially launched a quarter-based system, effective from AY 2017. Typically the class meets once a week, in a 90-minute lecture. A semester consists of approximately 16 working weeks.

SS = April to early August, AW = October to early February. The course descriptions and materials in the linked pages are given in Japanese.
