Aim

The international workshop "Various Aspects on the Painlevé Equations" will be held at the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Kyoto University in Japan from November 26 to November 30, 2012.

The conference will focus on the following topics:

• Differential and Difference Painlevé equations
• Higher order Painlevé systems and the Deligne-Simpson problem
• Similarity reduction from general soliton equations, Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy or UC hierarchy
• Moduli of connections, regular or irregular
• Asymptotic expansions of the Painlevé transcendents
• Quantum Painlevé systems
• Ultradiscrete systems
• Differential or Difference Galois theory
• Special solutions of the Painlevé equations
• Relation to various geometry: foliations, (discrete) surfaces, minimal surfaces
